I had been trying to work my way out of my own difficulties for a long time and had actually been making some progress even before the workshop. But, in the end, there was something very powerful about working on my issues with all of you present. Your collective openness acted as a real agent for change in my life — sort of an affirmation that the universe really will provide if I stay open to receiving.
I felt that I experienced for the first time what I imagine other mothers felt when their sons were small — unconditional acceptance and love. It made me finally realize why people give birth to children — because truly that feeling is like a drug. It also affirmed my decision to adopt, since I now feel that I got there anyway, just backwards.
