Our Story

If you believe in your dreams, they will happen

The Soltura workshops were born out of the experience of Carole Rosenberg while conducting personal growth workshops for a therapeutic program for adolescent boys from 2001 to 2005. She had developed a series of workshops for the male students and was surprised when a group of their mother's asked to participate in the same workshops. Having seen the impact the workshops had on their sons, these mothers wanted the same experience. The conventional wisdom at the time was to provide family seminars or "mini" workshops for parents, as many professionals felt that parents would not be prepared, or in some cases may not be willing, to open themselves to the more indepth personal exploration required during the workshops conducted for adolescents.

Lisaflying150x150w_2  After much discussion, Carole agreed to offer the workshop to these women and a phenomenon was born. She found that not only did the workshops "work" for adults, in some ways they were even more impactful for adults. These women had shown unrestricted courage in their self-exploration and each woman declared it a life changing experience. Having seen the impact on their wives, the fathers began demanding their own workshop. Knowing that men usually resist being emotional and vulnerable with other men, Carole knew this would be another challenge. But having already offered the workshop to the mothers, the fathers could not be denied. Again, she was surprised and impressed with the depth and quality of work done by these parents.

Over the next year or so, this initial group of parents spoke to other parents, both those with a son or daughter who was struggling, and those who were themselves struggling with some life transition. There was clearly a need and Carole had found a new passion — to expand her delivery of life altering workshops to other parents and adults. Encouraged by Alix and Steve Buckley, who became her partners and brought the business expertise, Soltura was founded in 2005 to serve the personal growth needs of adults and young people.

The special part of this story is that while Carole brings the skill, experience and incredible creativity to the services Soltura provides, it has been that initial group of parents who have provided the energy, emotional support, word-of-mouth marketing, logistics assistance and so much more to this endeavor. We are deeply grateful for all their hard work and greatly appreciate their continuing friendship.

Soltura Founders In Their Own Words

Carole Rosenberg, M.S., Executive Director and Co-Founder
Carole125x150 After designing and facilitating emotional growth workshops for therapeutic boarding school students and their families for over 25 years, I have joined with Alix and Steve Buckley to bring these incredible workshop experiences to everyone. My expertise in Education and Exercise Physiology (how the human body deals with stress), coupled with my passion for the principles of Attitudinal Healing and Multi-Dimensional Learning approaches, has allowed me the gift to facilitate personal and family healing. I believe that you can heal others as well as yourself by telling your story.

These workshops are designed around the things I have learned, and unlearned, through my continuing journey. I believe that one must find their own peace of mind before healing their relationships with others. I believe in love, forgiveness and each person's power to find their own answers. It is my goal to facilitate the change that these workshops can bring to each individual life.

Alix and Steve Buckley
Buckleys We were both attendees of the 1st workshop series for adults facilitated by Carole Rosenberg. After experiencing the powerful change and healing brought about by these workshops, we have chosen to support Carole in her dream of providing this opportunity to as many people/families as possible. Between us, we hold a B.S. in Education, completion of course work/practice required for LCDC (License in Chemical Dependency Counseling), and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering, respectively. This, plus our 25 years of operating our own business, coupled with our "life experience", we humbly offer what we can to support the miracles of change and healing that are available to us all.

It is our hope that individuals and families dealing with (but not limited to) crisis and/or dysfunctional patterns will experience a level of healing they never even knew was possible and that they will embrace their own power to bring about change from within.
